Description

Chlorphenamine is a sedating antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin rashes including hives. It can also help ease symptoms of the common cold and insect bites. It works by blocking histamine, the substance responsible for allergic reactions.

 

Directions

Adults and children over 12 years: take 4mg every 4–6 hours as needed (maximum 6 doses in 24 hours). Dosage for children varies by age—always follow the label or pharmacist’s advice.

 

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Chlorphenamine maleate.
May also contain lactose and other inactive ingredients depending on the brand.

Warnings

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine. Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you have glaucoma, prostate problems, or are taking other medications. Keep out of reach of children.
