Description

Nurofen Plus provides effective relief from moderate pain by combining an anti-inflammatory ingredient with an opioid painkiller. This dual-action formula helps reduce inflammation while also blocking pain signals for enhanced comfort. Nurofen Plus is suitable for short-term use when pain persists despite taking ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. It should only be used for a limited duration to minimise the risk of dependence.

  • Dual-action pain relief formula
  • Contains ibuprofen and codeine
  • Helps relieve backache, dental pain, migraine and period pain
  • Designed for short-term use only

Directions

Take Nurofen Plus exactly as directed on the packaging or by your pharmacist. The usual adult dose is one or two tablets every four to six hours as needed, without exceeding the maximum daily limit stated on the pack. Nurofen Plus should be swallowed whole with water and preferably taken with or after food to reduce stomach irritation. Do not use Nurofen Plus for more than three days unless advised by a healthcare professional.

If pain persists after three days, consult your doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use to ensure correct dosing and suitability.

Ingredients

Nurofen Plus contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that helps reduce pain, swelling and fever. It also contains codeine phosphate, an opioid analgesic that works by blocking pain signals in the brain. Each tablet contains specific strengths of these active ingredients as listed on the packaging.

Nurofen Plus also includes inactive ingredients that help form and stabilise the tablet. Always check the full ingredient list if you have allergies or sensitivities.

Warnings

Do not take Nurofen Plus if you are allergic to ibuprofen, codeine or other NSAIDs. Nurofen Plus should not be used if you have stomach ulcers, breathing problems, severe liver or kidney disease, or if you are under the recommended age. Because Nurofen Plus contains codeine, there is a risk of addiction or dependence with prolonged use.

Avoid taking Nurofen Plus with other products containing ibuprofen, codeine or similar painkillers. Do not drive or operate machinery if Nurofen Plus makes you feel drowsy or dizzy. Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medications.

Frequently asked questions

  • What type of pain can Nurofen Plus help relieve?

Nurofen Plus is commonly used to relieve moderate pain such as headaches, dental pain, back pain, and muscular aches. It combines two active ingredients to provide stronger relief when standard painkillers may not be enough.

  • How does Nurofen Plus work to reduce pain?

Nurofen Plus contains ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and swelling, along with codeine to enhance pain relief. Together they work to target both the source of pain and the body’s perception of discomfort.

  • Can Nurofen Plus be taken for short-term pain relief?

Nurofen Plus is intended for short-term use when pain requires stronger treatment than ibuprofen alone. It should only be used for the shortest time necessary and according to the recommended dosage.

  • Is Nurofen Plus suitable for treating cold or flu symptoms?

While it may help relieve aches, pains, and fever associated with colds or flu, it is primarily formulated as a pain relief medicine. It does not treat the underlying viral infection causing the illness.

  • Are there precautions to consider before using Nurofen Plus?

People with certain health conditions, stomach problems, or those taking other medications should consult a healthcare professional before use. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully due to the presence of codeine.
