Description

Chloramphenicol works by stopping the growth of bacteria responsible for eye infections. By preventing bacteria from producing essential proteins, it helps eliminate the infection and reduce inflammation. The drops are commonly used for acute bacterial conjunctivitis and other minor bacterial eye conditions. With regular use as directed, symptoms typically improve within a few days.

Directions

Wash your hands before use and tilt your head back. Apply one drop into the affected eye every 2 hours for the first 48 hours, then reduce to every 4 hours as symptoms improve, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Continue treatment for 5 days, even if symptoms improve earlier. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye and discard the bottle after the recommended period of use.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Chloramphenicol 0.5% w/v.
Inactive ingredients may include boric acid, purified water, and buffering agents to maintain stability and comfort. Always check the packaging for a full list of ingredients before use.

Warnings

For bacterial infections only and not suitable for viral or allergic eye conditions. Do not use if you are allergic to chloramphenicol or have a history of blood disorders linked to its use. Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen, do not improve within 48 hours, or if you experience severe pain or vision changes.
