Overview

Jext is a pre-filled auto-injector that delivers adrenaline (epinephrine) for the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis.

What it does

During a severe allergic reaction, symptoms such as throat swelling, breathing difficulty, or a dangerous drop in blood pressure can occur. Adrenaline helps by:

  • Relaxing airway muscles so breathing becomes easier
  • Reducing swelling in the face and throat
  • Increasing blood pressure to prevent collapse
  • Slowing down the allergic reaction

When to use Jext

Jext should be used immediately if someone develops signs of a severe allergic reaction after exposure to triggers such as:

  • Foods (e.g. peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish)
  • Insect stings (bees or wasps)
  • Medications
  • Latex

Directions

How to use Jext

  • Remove the pen from the case
  • Hold Jext firmly in your dominant hand.
  • Remove the safety cap from the top (yellow end).
  • Position correctly
  • Hold the injector at a 90° angle to the outer thigh.
  • It can be used through clothing if necessary.
  • Administer the injection
  • Push the tip firmly into the outer thigh until you hear a click.
  • Keep it pressed in place for about 10 seconds to deliver the full dose.
  • Remove and massage
  • Remove the injector and gently massage the injection site for a few seconds.

Call emergency services

Always call 999 (UK) immediately after using Jext, even if symptoms improve.

Useful advice

  • Do not inject into the buttock, hands, or feet.
  • A second dose may be given after 5–15 minutes if symptoms persist and a second auto-injector is available.
  • Always check the solution through the window—it should be clear and colourless; do not use if cloudy or discoloured.
  • Always carry two devices in case a second dose is needed.

Side Effects

Common Side Effects
These are usually mild and short-lived:
